Silvadene is wonderful. I got it from the emergency room for a burn before.
As far as home remedies, I've used lavender oil, aloe, and honey on burns- with good results. Peeled the aloe and sorta smashed the clear stuff up, then put it on a telfa pad.

I have found aloe vera to be one of the best treatments. Just keep applying it.
Hope you feel better.

For future reference, when you get burned, get ice on in ASAP!!! seconds count!
I used to be a glass blower, I know
We would run to the freezer, put ice on the burn and then apply aloe vera and go back to work.

Raw honey and a protective bandage. Trust me on this one....if you want fast relief from pain, fast healing and no scarring, use the honey. Worked for me! :)

Thanks guys :) Ill have to see if I still have honey, I used up quite a bit with BBCC experiments lol!

No outside today :( I was going to just walk my horse on the trail ride, but I can't put a shoe on my foot. I don't care, but there are youngins I am setting the example for. Poo, poo and double poo.

Also, don't let it sit in closed off and moist. Light covering okay, but try and avoid socks or shoes if you can. It should be able to breathe, whatever you do.

I doubt you will ge going anywhere tomorrow. All that dragon laurel said or the honey. If you end up going to a doctor demand silvadine cream, there is nothing better you can get from them.

I would not bandage it though. If it blisters, and it may not, I did the same thing to my hands once and no blisters. It didn't really need any treatment except for the pain. If it blisters you don't want to tear those blisters open. That is the time for an antimicrobial topical ointment like silvadine or honey. As long as the skin is intact there is little risk of infection but risk increases with blistering.

I've heard that MMS takes the pain right out of a burn, prevents infection and heals it fast.... but MMS is another story.

I got a steam burn on my wrist once. I used aloe and even know exactly where I burned myself, I cannot see a mark at all. But then I always have fresh aloe vera handy. I don't always have raw honey, but I would definitely use that as well.

You might also take some over the counter pain meds. Hope you are feeling better really soon.
