Our parish is having a spaghetti dinner/bake sale quite soon. I usually bring a couple of banana cashew loaves, and whatever kind of cookie I have the ingredients for (if I make chocolate chip there's never enough left for a bake sale!).
How about sharing some yummy bake sale goodies recipes? I'd like to bring a surprise along with the good old banana-cashew!

P.S.:
If you have a good chocolate chip something recipe, I wouldn't mind having it to make for later...thanks

Whenever I am faced with providing a dessert, I break out a canned pie filling and a pre-made, graham cracker pie crust.

I add a little whipped cream to the top, once the filling is in the crust, chill it, the shave a few chocolate curls to go on top of the whipped cream.

No baking, but yum to the core!

It's funny, I just made a banana cream pie the other day and I never thought of it for the bake sale.
If you buy the ready-made graham cracker crust you not only have a time saver, but turn the plastic lid over and you have a nice sturdy cover for your pie.
I'm wondering though, how long whipped cream will last on the pie? I can't stand the various cool whips so it must be whipped cream. I put the whipped cream on each piece when I make it at home. Anyone with some good pointers about how to keep it fresh and fluffy?

I haven't taken anything to bake sales... ever actually, so I don't have a "surefire hit" recipe... BUT I do notice that when I see a bake sale there are usually pretty many whoopie pies and rice krispies treats, so they must be good sellers.

Katharina, I know about rice crispy treats but I've never heard of a Whoopie pie (great name, by the way!) What are these made from?

It is two large and fat soft cookies (chocolate or pumpkin are best) with
homemade cream filling in the middle. And soooo loaded with calories it's
not funny. But individually wrapped, they go really fast at bake sales.

Those whoopie pies sound absolutely delectable!!! I think those would definitely be a hit at the bake sale. You wouldn't happen to have the recipe, would you?

I wish I did! But truthfully I always buy them at... yep, you got it, bake sales. :) That said, there should be plenty of recipes for them online. Just compare a few. They should be described as soft chocolate cookies with a creamy filling. You'll be able to tell from the ingredients which recipe should work better for you.

I am definitely on the internet prowl for whoopie pies! Even if it's just to say that I have eaten such a thing. I love that name...!
