Bandsaw Setup

Howdy folks, just bought a new 14" bandsaw with 3 speeds. I would like to know what speed to use for what and also, anything you can tell me about blade tension for resawing. I have some 14" oak boards I want to thin down.

Any info you can pass along will be appreciated.

I know you probably already know this but - if you go a good while without using it you need to take the tension off the blade ........

Understood Marshall, mine has a quick release on the tension that can reapply the same tension when you want it back on.

That is pretty cool woad - that you can reapply the tension to the same tension you had it the first time. I also want to say thanks for the link too. I'm not good with a bandsaw at all.
