Is there anything I can do to deter this? As i am sitting here, three have already knocked themselves out. Two dead yesterday.

If I hang dangly things from the curtain rod on the inside, will this be enough? Or should it be outside?

hmm...I think anywhere you choose to hang would be fine

probably inside cause you don't want wind to whip things against your window

it stinks to have to 'block' a window....so pick something you like LOL and make it kinda big so they can see and veer off the death window course lol

No, no homeschooling--kids are almost 15 and 13, --they are way past the age to draw me pictures. I have sun catchers and wind chime thingies. I just hung two, so we'll see how it goes.

Those hawk silhouette things are supposed to work pretty well. Better if you put them on the outside of the window than if you put them on the inside, but supposedly they still work 'somewhat' even if they're on the inside.

The spiderweb decals are also supposed to work for songbirds but I dunno whether swallows would care as much, no clue.

Alternatively you can put netting or screen over the outside of the most problematic windows, to decrease reflections of sky and if it's set out a little ways from the window it also lets them bounce off instead of crashing.

ya know those barn swallows are so darn fast and acrobatic I wonder how they do survive lol

when we plow or hay or whatever flocks just follow and dive bomb and massive speed and manuver with lightening speed

imprerssive to say the least--I always enjoyed watching them
