Bathroom

Our house was built in the 1940s but the bathroom had been remodeled poorly. The bathroom was tiny, you could wash your hands while on the toilet. We make more room by knocking down some of the wall and taking some room out of the large closet behind the wall. Now the sink is built into that spot. We also put in a new tub, toilet and tile. The upgrades make the bathroom much more useful and enjoyable.

Our house was also built in around same year and bathroom was of old design. It was not too tiny but we also made more space by knocking down the walls and now there is a bathtub and a big basin .Below the basin, we made two selves so that we can keep our cloths to be washed and all other bathroom cleaners. Now our bathroom is looking great!

Did you end up having to lose a closet or something to gain that space in the bathroom? Was it worth losing the closet (or whatever) to gain space in the bath?

Was this bathroom on the first or second floor? Just curious.

I sure wish we had room to expand our bathroom. It isn't *that* tiny, but it is long and narrow. There is little room for any sort of upgrade or expansion. It is on the second floor, so we can't easily build 'out'.

If there were two rooms that I would completely do-over in my house, it is my bathroom and my kitchen.

Yes, we went into the closet a little bit but we still have the closet. It was really deep with wasted space. We still have as much space, it is just not as deep as it was. The space is definately more useful in the bathroom.

That is one thing I would definately love to do here. On the back wall of the bathroom, there is a built in bookcase that takes up about 2 feet of space. I'd just as soon get that out of there and make the bathroom 2 feet wider.

it's good to know you've succeeded in renovating your bathroom. our bathroom is kinda spacious but i'd love to change the tiles on the floor since they don't look neat at all. they're actually 21 years old and have poor quality.
