I have noticed that people can end up paying a lot more for items than they are worth. I think this happens because they get caught up in the bidding process, and hate to lose. Too much pride costs them too much money, but they would never admit it.

Do you think it is wiser to buy most items using the "But it Now" option on Ebay?

Have you found really great deals this way?

I hear where you are coming from Daydreamer. There are times when something is listed at a great deal and it all depends on how the bidding goes. We have to be careful to not get caught up in that "I want to win" scenario. I will check out what I am looking for, then compare it to buying it brand new, locally.

I worry that when it gets to my house it won't work. I have a thing about buying from other people when I can't actually have my hands and eyes on a product. You never know if they're telling you the truth or not. But then again, you may find a diamond in the rough. You just never know.

Best Deals

Hi,

This is my personal view, and unless i can actually physically see the product, and look it over, I am quite skeptical about buying anything over the internet. There are just so many con artist out there, and money is a really important issue now, so I am very nervous about how I spend my money. Do you feel this way too?

True enough, sometimes I reckon I might just be buying someone elses problem or lemon. It's different if you can handle a used item or see and hear a used machine operating but unseen and unheard just makes me too nervous!

In fact, now that I've thought about it, doesn't it seem like half of those tv court shows (you know the daytime tv shows) deal with folks buying used items that are sold as-is and then they wind up getting what they paid for?;)

I have insight on this! The first time I bought something on Ebay, I bid on something I thought was a great deal. I needed it for my business, and was excited when it came. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I started the process to get my money back, got it working, dropped the process, and then it stopped again.

I love buying used things, but that's what thrift stores are for. If I can't see it, I don't want it.

I think there are different types of purchasers...those that purchase on an impulse, those that purchase to protect their egos, those that want to make a great deal, and so on and so forth. I guess you are talking about one type of buyer here. When I buy something, I take a lot of time researching various prices and brands. I also check the product reviews. I purchase something only if I need it, and I sure don't waste money on anything. :)
