I went in my attic to see what type of insulation I had and found black mold on my air ducts.:( Anyone have a solution to this that is natural? I know bleach is a nono. I'd rather just get new ducts. But no in my buget right now. But neither is getting sick. I live in Florida and humidity is high in the roof areas of corse. HELP!!

Sounds good. Any house spiders and mice are going to hate it. They don't like peppermint. Since your in Fla. they will probably just go outside. That's alright.

Where are you? I grew up around Orlando.

straight vinegar- use in spray bottle. No rinse. A fan may help with the scent.

I got some stuff trying to get going in the corner of my shower, so Google to the rescue. Here's more ideas:

straight lemon juice (or lemon juice and salt together)

1 part peroxide - 2 parts water in spray bottle

2 tsp tea tree oil in 2 cups water. Use in spray bottle. Shake to blend before use. No rinse.

20 drops Grapefruit Seed Extract in 2 cups water. Use in spray bottle, shake to blend. No rinse.

1 tsp Borax to up to 2 cups hot water
Place the borax in a container and dissolve completely in hot tap water. Saturate a sponge with the mixture and wash the moldy area. If really moldy, use an even higher concentration of borax and/or leave the solution on for a few hours or overnight, then rinse well. The more borax, the more residue to rinse off, but borax really works. This can even be used to clean plaster walls that have been penetrated by mold by using an almost straight borax paste. Leave the borax on the walls for a number of days and when it is completely dry, and vacuum up the powder.
