hhhhmmmmm I kinda like it and kinda don't LOL

went to the beach for 5 days

My treasure was:

a pepsi can buried 20 inches deep
1 rusty OLD nail (could be off the mayflower or something lol)
a quarter (now I am .25 ahead toward paying off this detector)
a weirdo bolt
metal fishing hook/bait thingy

that is it

Metal detecting takes time and my KID didn't give me that time to scour the beach truly it is an activity where you just have to kinda be alone and have time to work the system to find that treasure lol

well --- going to the beach again in June so maybe in that week I can find a giant treasure LOL maybe lol

BUT there was a 1000 lb sea turtle washed up dead on the beach with a crab pot and rope tangled all over him.....ugh sad to see....and what a monster I see these on TV but never knew truly how big one of these was monster sized giant head and flippers etc sad to see but the ranger said he had to be close to 100 years old at least to be that size

so just wanted to say what my treasure was from my detector and here's fingers crossed on better treasure down the road lol

I LOVE metal detectors!

Sadly, my Hubby and kids won't be seen in public with me when I use one, so mine got given away or something!

Good for you, .25! Once I found a hot wheel car :p

Remember my neighbors think a spanish galleon sank on their property up here in the hills of PA. ( take one step on their property, 6 inches, and there are all over you )

I worked down in williamsburg Va around jims house which was near the hospital during the battle of the peninsula during the civil war. I found all kinds of neat stuff, some buttons, broken metal stuff, three black powder balls two 50 cal one 30 cal. I found lots (4) boot/horse buckles not sure what they were from, and a 3/4 penny that I kept for myself. I gave everything else I found to jim for xmas.

I have a whites and still have it, thou I don't use it as much since I moved away from the beach. I will take a photo tomorrow of a silver bar I found on Va beach, its worth about ten dollars.

Because I have spent many hours searching, I can tell you, you never know what your going to find!!

Karen you are too funny!! I hope you enjoyed your trip to the beach even though you didn't find gold. Sorry to hear about the turtle.

I bought my dh a metal detector. He wanted to take it to the desert. It's in our camper. I don't think hes ever used it. :barnie

Maybe I should give it a try.
