1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts-optional (I don't make it w/the nuts cuz I'm not overly fond of nuts.)

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add cocoa, flour, salt and nuts. Mix well. Pour into a buttered 9x13" pan. Make sure the corners are filled and the batter is even. Bake at 350* for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and either let cool or eat warm. (I'll admit, I normally eat the first piece warm from the oven w/a big glass of milk. :drool)

For those of you, like me, that have more eggs from your hens than you know what to do with:

2 sticks of butter
2 c sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2/3 c cocoa powder
1 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
Optional: I add a few dashes of cinnamon

Oven to 350
Grease & flour a 13x9 pan

Melt butter in saucepan over low heat then remove
Add sugar & mix
Add eggs & mix
Add vanilla & mix
Add cocoa powder & mix
Ad flour, salt, baking powder until well incorporated. Some lumps are fine, don't over mix
Spread in pan & bake about 30 minutes
