Built my own crosscut sled for my table saw

A few months ago I sold my dad's huge metal Delta table saw for $500, then went to Home Depot and got a tiny portable table saw for $200 (with rack and wheels)!

I've been looking at a bunch of fun projects and one that caught my eye was a "crosscut sled".

I didn't really want to build a big one, but then stumbled on this one:

It was the perfect first project for my new table saw!

Well, it isn't as pretty as the one in the video, but it works GREAT!!

I even did a test of using it for making "dado" cuts and this monstrosity was the result:

Good job! We have the room so we have the bigger tools, but it's still fun to make jigs and 'helping hands' for the tools.

One of the most used tools in the shop, however, is Dad's old DeWalt radial arm saw. It is also older than the oldest I've seen on the internet so far. It has built a lot of houses in the day. Spouse used to help his father as a teenager so the saw had to be made in the early 1950s.
