At the survivalist food board I frequent, good old "Smitty" is renown for pressure canning chicken wings in Buffalo wing sauce. I guess he fries the lightly floured wings to brown them, fills his jars, adds sauce to cover, and processes as you do any meat. The others who have tried it have loved it, but I haven't tried yet, mostly because I don't like Buffalo wings ! I like honey mustard or BBQ, or the ones made with chili sauce and grape jelly. (Sensing a trend to sweetness?)

Has anyone tried canning flavored chicken wings? I am thinking about giving it a shot, but am not sure how the flavors would work after the processing.

I am not big on the wings themselves, but little boneless pieces in buffalo sauce would be great to have on hand. My 18 yr old and yr boyfriend love them and I do too...I like buffalo chicken pizza and tortilla wraps! Yummy.

Another great idea!! Thank you

KAren, my worry about freezing is that if there is an emergency and we lose power it would be hard to prepare frozen stuff....although looking in my pantry is not evidence of my little paranoia. And the truth is in my 41 yrs it has never happened....but it is always hovering in the back of my mind

OH I hear you.

Canning is the best preservation vs. an electrical appliance to rely on.

In CT we had a power outage....we had the biggest best food eats over those 10 days I ever had in my life. MOM cooked everything on the grill....my gosh I couldn't have eaten better ever in my life..HA HAHA

but you are right, long term emergency frozen stuff is in jeaopardy.
