Is there a good place to order in bulk?

I used to get a good coffee (whole bean) from Costco, but they stopped carrying it.

I haven't been too impressed with the Sam's selection.

Is it hard to roast your own?

Will that same me some dough?

Come on you java junkies....tell me your secrets.

Don't know if I have a good answer for that. I buy mine at Trader Joes, so if you have one, you can get great coffee for a good price. If not, then I don't know. I hear ya on the Sam's club coffee- it looks like they are buying bean rejects. The last time I bought it the beans were broken, there were hulls in it, and it was never roasted the same way.
I get Trader Joes organic, fair trade, 28 oz can of Wake Up Blend for 11.99. And it is always good. Can't find organic near that price anywhere.
I am trying to cut way, way down though. Sleeping problems, even though I rarely drink it late in the day.

Trader Joe's is a 6 hour round trip for me. :p But for that fair trade Sumatran, it is almost worth it!!!

I have been fidning some Star Bucks coffees at Bargain Mart for $4/bag, but even that is not a GREAT deal.

Starbucks always tastes burnt to me. Every roast I have tried :hu
There is a Guatemalan roast at Whole foods that I used to drool over, but it is oh so expensive. They now have one at TJ's that is nealry identical and half the price! It's my splurge coffee. :drool

Can you ask Costco to order it in for you.
A good supply?
Just as the manager, might be easier than you think....

I am not a coffee drinker (sometimes wish I was!!! I love the smell of the fresh ground beans, but can't stand the taste of the drink  ) but my family is. My father is going to make a bean roaster from an old hot air popcorn popper.

Now I know where I inherited the gene that makes me save stuff for phantom projects.... :p

Where are people getting raw beans? I would hate to order a bunch and be disappointed.

Can't ask Costco to order me some. I let my membership lapse because the only thing I was buying was that one type of coffee :p

There are probably some local roasters in your area or the next largest town. I was surprised to find a local coffee roaster in my neighborhood in down town Houston..3 blocks away! And they did sell to the public as I think most do.

Now that I am here in my new city, I stumbled across another coffee roaster right in walking distance from the court house.

yea I know --my Sams club lapsed and it is $40 to renew....I don't think I am going to bother cause I only get a few things from there actually.

ANY friend have the membership? Have them do it for you?
