So, some of you know, we raise a mid/late winter batch of chicks in our heated crawl space.
We have figured out a method the keeps all the dust from floating up ( and out of the pen/room) , and how to keep the smell at zero.
Anyways, I have a hen and 9 1/3 of the way grown chicks down there right now.
If experience proves correct, there are 2-3 roos in the batch.
One of them, started exercising the unique capabilities of his vocal cords two days ago
So far, is just a croak, but I am now having nightmares as to what its going to be like in the coming weeks.
Its -7 today, and we still have several weeks of around zero weather to deal with, before we can think about transitioning them out to the big coop.
Dinner company could be lots of fun
