Almost Self-Reliant
I'm being incredibly lazy and just c/p'ing the New Year's swap and adjusting as needed. I figured we could do one for xmas, because then we can possibly get different soaps for people on our lists that either already get plenty of our own soap, or whatever. Or just keep it for yourself of course, lol.
Anyone interested in a fun, no pressure soap swap? Anything can go, whatever your fav. is to soap. Now is the time to start soaping to have cured soap by xmas.
Guidelines
1. CP, HP, MP, whatever. Not particular.
2. EOs, FOs, or a blend therein are all acceptable.
3. Full size bars required (at least 4 ounces). One for each participant, obviously.
4. Only sign up if you are going to follow through! Everyone is counting on you to return the favor of receiving some gorgeous soaps.
5. Return shipping will depend on how many people participate. I prefer paypal or money orders (checks cost me $2 to cash :/) Paypal, PLEASE cover your own paypal fees!
6. Your soap must be labeled with: your SS name and ingredients.
7. All soaps must be SHIPPED to me by November 25th. They can still require cure time at time of shipping, provided that they will be FULLY cured before the holiday. This time for shipping gives me enough time to ship out without everything getting slowed d/t increased holiday shipping. Please keep in mind that is Black Friday, ie the day after Thanksgiving. Feel free to ship to me sooner if that works better for you.
This is how it works, all participants send their soaps in to the Swap Mom (Bettacreek, in this case) by the due date. I will repackage and you will receive a soap box with one of each participant's soaps (plus one of your own) back!
This gives us some time to get your soaps made and shipped out before xmas. If you cannot make your soap in time that it will be cured BEFORE xmas, please do not enter. I don't want anyone giving out soaps as gifts or using them for their own xmas cheer if they are not cured!!! I will turn around the soaps and mail them out to everyone on Monday, November 30. If for some reason you get behind simply put the "birth date" of your soap on the label. That way the recipients will know to add six weeks before using your bar to allow for cure.
Come on, SS, and play with me!!!! New at this, been doing it forever, whatever, everyone is welcome to participate. Get your feet wet. Or, get back into the hobby. Swaps are also a good way to learn and grow in the craft. I love, love soap swaps, sharing, and comraderie. We can close out the name-taking on November 1 so everyone will know exactly how many soaps to make. I know this doesn't give a whole heck of a lot of time to sign up, but if you're worried about soap cure time, feel free to make soaps ahead of time. We'll close out early if we get 10 participants, so if you want to make 10 bars ahead of time, that will cover you. If we don't get 10 participants, you can trade between other members and I'll ship them with the rest just to try to help reduce shipping for people, so long as they fit in the box!!!
