Many years ago, I trash picked a leather topped table. The only thing wrong w/it? It's missing a caster. Problem being, I'm not really sure how to clean the leather and it really needs it! I have all kinds of stuff for cleaning leather tack, but am not sure if I'd use the same stuff, or something else. So, I'm hoping someone else on here either has a leather topped table, or knows someone that does that can tell me how to clean it. Right now, it's in my basement. I want to move it into my living room, but can't until I get it cleaned up.

The best thing I have found that really cleans leather is *Linda* bar soap found in the laundry isle. I have a light beige yellow sofa set that I have been cleaning like this for years. After it is clean I rub a beeswax into it to protect it. I am not saying this is the right way to do it, this is just what has worked for me

Good saddle Soap [Murphy's oil soap would be my second choice] Dry and Rub well. If it shows cracking or other signs of drying out, Treat with neatsfoot[sp?] oil if you can find it to 'feed' replace oil. Keep wiping with a clean cloth until all free oil has been removed. Finish And protect with Kiwi Shoe Polish. If the leather is badly cracked you can live with it, make the cracks show more with other color polish, or look into replacing the leather.$$$$$
Kiwi used to produce Three diffenent Paste polish. Paste Polish was just the regular found everywhere. paste with dye[I haven't seen in years it used to be my favorite] and Parade Gloss only found in PXs and around military bases, used for Spit Shines. Unless you like that high gloss look, avoid it it is hard to buff. Transparent paste would be my choice

Wonder if the bar of soap that I have cleaning leather is a moisturizing soap. If so, I don't need to buy anything! I'd just be cleaning it like I would leather tack! Thanks, guys.

I use castle soap (straight olive oil soap) on all my saddles, bridles, etc. and oil them with olive oil. I would think it would work the same on your table!
