The grout in my kitchen is looking dirty! No wonder I stand in the same area for hours every dang day!

Any ideas on what I can do to whiten it up? The flooring is stone so i do need to be careful not to use harsh chemicals (which I do not want to do anyways!!)

Any suggestions?

Anybody know if peroxide will damage stone floor? That's what I use to disinfect my showers. Or vinegar & baking soda. The fizzy seems to flat out dissolve grime.

I'd contact the manufacturers of a few grout products for their recommendation. Assuming that you didn't grout it yourself.
I think most grout has a sealant applied so they may ask about that when advising.

I use one of the really hard but not metal detail brushes people use to detail cars with soap and water works amazing for me, I really have to talk myself into getting on my knee's for hours though.....My Mother in law uses one of those shark steamer type machines and swears by it but I did not like it. :idunno

I tried the steamer and it did not work real well. Dace what color is the grout? Oh wait, what color did it start out as? I use that soft scrub with bleach in my shower. I actually squirt little lines down the grout. Like a big grid pattern. It works pretty good. Another thing that works for me but is a bit labor intensive are those magic erasers. I buy off brand ones at the dollar store. Do Not use them on any shiny surface. Wood etc... But they work pretty well on grout. They get chewed up really quick but do the job.

Good luck,

Thanks everyone. I will do a little more research but I am thinking the scrub brush and simple dish washing liq. maybe the best option. I really do not want to put bleach or other chemicals on my stone.

Noobie...I do not know about peroxide, but vinegar is not good for stone. Any acid is bad.
