We've chatted this before. But is anything new happening?

I found out earlier while walking Bolt up the road to the very first house way up at the stop sign......my neighbor was outside with his big shepard. We chatted the usual for a bit and then he said, so did you see the big search lights a few weeks ago? HUH???? He said at 1 am his shepard went nutso barking crazy. He turned on his big flood (and yea it lights up the world) and near his shed were 2 people dressed in black head to toe. Oh yea robbers for sure. He said they took off across the road into Davids yard heading for the big road and woods. He called the cops who went up and down our road, the road over and a few others with a big search light. (well A for effort but I am sure they would never find them in those woods and this area. You can hide in a flash lol)

It surprised me for sure. Put Tony on alert which is good. So locking up the world here as usual and being careful. As usual the robbers are wanting your stuff and my stuff and our neighbors stuff.

So just wondering if any new bad troubles are in your area?

We dont have any trouble except for a few neighbor kids that get on my nerves (they walk the road). They like to cluck, and make animal noises at me if I am in the yard. But as far as men in black robbers, no. We are surrounded by open pasture field, except the road in front of the house which has pasture on its side. We have no neighbors on the side Gran and Auntie is on. Then on my side we have neighbors but are separated by a valley. :D We also have a guard dog who does exceptionally well, and we know his barks. Actually today when I was walking up from the animal houses, they are set down a lane covered by trees, I felt paranoid. But the dog was fine, so I was convinced.

The day after Christmas at about 10 pm 5 Sheriff vehicles came roaring down the road and ended up at one of the more sketchy neighbor's houses. About 10 minutes later, the FD and paramedics show up with 3 or 4 more sheriffs. They had the whole road blocked off for several hours. I have no idea why they were here. I have been scouring all of the local news sources and have found nothing. In town there were 7 houses robbed on Christmas eve. Then yesterday in town a man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after beating his girlfriend to a pulp, and another person found their neighbor stabbed to death after they failed to show up for a dinner party.

I am so glad that I live way outside town! All of my nearest neighbors are really nosy, me included, and we see everything! I never thought nosy neighbors were a good thing 'til we moved out here!

Our house was broken into over the summer. Luckily they caught the guys and we got most of our stuff back, but it put us on high alert!

I missed it, found out about it from a neighbor, but a few months ago, they apprehended someone on our street w/a knife. I have no idea what he did, but from what I understand, it took several officers to subdue him-and my street only has 7 houses on it!

DL, nosy neighbors are one of the best defenses against criminal activity-especially if the nosy neighbors will call the cops.

We live pretty far out in the sticks here...no really near neighbors and the road is a dead end and far back from the highway. Our only near neighbor is a nice fellow. We also have a dog who looks and sounds very effective as a deterrent.

Not had any problems with anything like that in the 35 years the folks have lived on this place. I think it helps if they know you have guns and there are many places to bury them where no one will ever find hide nor hair of 'em. :p

Living on the outskirts of Baltimore, there is crime. Thankfully we're in a rather odd place, so people don't really know we are there. If we were to get robbed, it would be by someone that knows the area.
I am looking forward to moving somewhere that there are even fewer neighbors and less traffic!

The main problem we have had here is someone has been stealing dogs. There is a long story about it but let's just say that a "shelter" who takes (only purebred) dogs out of the area and gets $400-$600 adoption fees is NOT nonprofit!

We had some stuff taken from out barn a while back.

There too? We had a "shelter" that was raiding 'puppy mills' [recently outlawed effective Sept 1st] if the owner signed over the desireable puppies he was told that he could avoid being charged. They made the mistake of too much advertisement and got raided before christmas by animal control who followed the paper trail back to the original owners that told how and why the pups had changed hands. Most of them wouldn't press charges because they were quility but the people that donated money are for fraud. Some of our animal lovers are very red faced this new year.~gd

Speaking of crime has anyone besides me been warned by their computers of cyber-attack on this site? My security software screemed at me last night while I was on site and again just now ~10:40 AM EST ~gd
