DH says gas, cheaper and easier to work on and the fuel is a little cheaper too.

I don't have a choice. The smell of diesel can trigger a vertigo attack for me. And, the sound of the engine hurts my ears.

I actually have no preference :hu We usually wind up with gasoline engines though, just because they're more common.

Thinking about it, it seems that the folks I know with diesel engines in their trucks all tow heavy construction equipment or very large travel trailers. I don't know if that means anything or if it is a coincidence. :idunno

Diesel, hands down.

Unmatched in torque for towing heavy loads be it over long interstate travels (Powerstroke) or through mountain passes (Cummins). And to get the equal towing capacity in a gas motor, I'd stop 3x as much to fill up and it'd end up costing more

Have owned both. Each have their own pros and cons. Depends on what you want to do with them.

Deisel is MUCH more effcient (and the fule of choice in the UK)... for what it was designed for depsite higher cost its much cheaper overall and generally considered a "better" fule for efficiency.

but personally i cant stand the smell of it, it makes me ill, literally so itll be gas for me untill something better comes along.

Depends on where you are located, in some places Diesel is cheaper than Gas, Diesel cars & trucks generally get better MPG, other than that a turbo diesel has nice torque from the bottom up.
