I thought this was a nice photo of "Ducky" yesterday morning.

I notice his feathers are getting very thick.
I wonder if that means we will have a hard winter?

My Cayuga ducks have "thick" feathers too. My Rouen's feathers are normal though. I assumed it was just a "Cayuga" thing.

Did he have thick feathers last year? How old is he?

That is such a cute photo! :) I love all of your photos!

He has only been around since June of this year, he lived in New Mexico before. The story of how he came to Tucson is in a previous post.

He is such a fine duck! Very friendly. And he appears quite content to live with the goats.

Nope. Just more work and right now I'm building a chicken coop, training two 4 yr old geldings, painting my horse trailer, chopping down weed trees all over my 5 acres--and I work. I am the only "duck" on the property. Guess I'm the head-duck. Ask my DD's--I peck!!

Could SOMEBODY invent a 36 hour day, please?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm sorry. :(

I'm afraid that if I were offered a 36 hour day, I would spend at least some of that extra time sleeping. :p
