Looking to do some shopping for parts for the deer electric fence. Just got a farmtek catalog in the mail and am curious to know other's opinions.
How do prices compare with TSC? Or is there any other company that you'd go to first (for online shopping)?

Curious minds want to know!

Can't speak of the item you mentioned but a few days ago, I was considering installing a watering system for my chickens and was looking at Randal Burkley's supplies and DH was @ home and looking @ Farmtek. Randal beat it by quite a bit for all the items I would have needed for the system I was interested in. I can't remember exactly why I started getting the catalogs in. I may be on a mailing list because of other purchases I make, or maybe I have bought something from them in the past.
I do have to admit that they have a huge selection.

Farmtek tends to be on the high side for everything. However, having their catalogue helps find out what you need rather than stand in the store and try to locate all the stuff.

I'm not familiar with Farmtek, and I don't know if they have premises in Canada. But I agree that this is one of the important functions of catalogues - self education. You can research tools and equipment and thereby get the basic info, so that if you later go into a store or go online and, say, email a company to inquire about a product, you aren't talking about it from complete ignorance. :/ You can get the essentials (including terminology) from catalogue reading. ;)

My go to site for shopping for anything online is Amazon. I've bought some pretty big tools there....once even contemplated buying my tiller there...shipping was free but they wouldn't ship something that big directly to my door and we didn't have a drop site nearby.

Rhoda, I'm not familiar with Randal Burkley, do they have a website?

Good to note, Bee, might have to check into that, too, thanks. REALLY want to get this deer fence up soon before spring starts really coming. The daffodils are beginning to sprout, so I'd best get a move on...

Gemplers, Northern Tool. FarmTek is good. I've never found great deals at TSC but because there is a TSC store within 15 miles I will buy there for convenience when necessary.
