We have a Nor'easter coming with ton of snow (so they say anywho)

I looked around and said, "Well I should pick up some extra milk."

But that's it!! Got eggs, make my own bread. Pantry is sticked.

This is the point!!

(Got dried milk to make do if I had to, but I can get fresh so I will.)

Yup I am there with you. Feels great doesn't it!!!!

Going to fill my bathtubs tonight in case I lose power and well. As long as I can flush, I smile.

I have the stupid snow and junk coming also.....and I thought and thought and I don't need a darn thing....other than sunshine and swimming right now.. :p

We're actually expecting to be a balmy 38 degrees here today. But tomorrow will begin a full week of high's in the mid-20's and some snow. This is our first Winter out in the country, and I'm lovin' it, too. Our freezers are full, the pantry is full, I've been making bread like a crazy woman, a few of my girls are still layin', and I've got critters who love me to keep me warm. Life is GOOD, I tell ya. :D

Isn't that a great feeling? Same thing here last storm. Wood heat, check. Freezers full of food, check. Pantry full, check. :thumbsup

After learning of the oxidated cholesterol in powdered milk, I no longer use it. Instead I keep cans of table cream (not ideal but ok) and coconut milk (better) and use those.

Of course, with all the stocking I have done over the last 6 months, it could storm for weeks and we would be just fine. The only thing we keep running out of is cheese, coffee and tea. With my son and hubby though, I could not possibly buy enough of these items under any circumstances :p

Yeah, milk is always going to be a problem. DH hates coconut milk, so that's out. What about canned evaporated milk?
