You would never know from the nice clear sky that we have so many fires burning all around us here. My daughter in Colorado was complaining of all the smoke in the air the other day from the Arizona fires,
Here are a couple of her photos to show me what she was seeing up there.

This is how it normally looks.

And this is how it looked on June 7 2011

The winds carried the smoke away from us, I heard on the news they were detecting smoke in the Midwest from our fires here in Arizona.

The fires are pretty far away from us. But, it has caused all the recreation areas here in Southern AZ to be closed for the most part. No camping or even hiking in the mountians around us. Thankfully the winds are such that we are not even getting much smoke here in Tucson!

We here in Tucson have pretty clear skys. But south of here, in the most wonderful forest, it is being evacuated!! My favorite place on earth is a tinderbox!! Greer, AZ... it used to have a wonderful old lodge by a lake, that was burned down last month due to arson!!

Now the forest is burning away in the entire area there. It is/was a place where us desert dwellers could go to cool off in the summer time. The photos on the news are very scary, just a big wall of fire and smoke!

Springerville and Eager AZ are being evacuated, they have about 7,000 residents in the area, that now are having to axiously wait to see if they will have a house to come back to when this is all over. The fires are not even close to being contained. Very sad.

No rain in the forcast. We do have a Hurricane off the coast of Mexico, but it is to veer off to the west and we won't see any moisture from it. (Unless it goes against the "models" set up for the path it is to take)
