I told DH that I want a food processor for Christmas, and he wants to know how big of a one to get....

Having never had one before - I have no idea.

What size is yours? What do you use it for? Is it big enough? What kind is it? Are you happy with it?

Please let me know!

I want to let him know what I want before he gets distracted and looks at more guns

I have a cuisinart. I don't know how big it is, but there are times I wish it were bigger. The label on it is a Custom Prep 11...I guess that means 11 cups, but I use it a lot for mixing gluten free pancakes and such so i wish it would hold more liquids. It does great with cutting veggies and stuff.

I have a black & decker short cut. It is on the small size. I really wouldn't have room for a larger machine and refilling the basket isn't a big deal. I think ease of cleaning would be more important.

I have a cuisinart 11 cup as well. I think it's very easy to clean and big enough for all of the stuff I use it for. I have had moments though where I wished I had two bowls for it...

I don't remember what brand mine is (bought it as Bealls), but it's small - holds about 4 cups. It's plenty big enough as far as prepping for meals and making sauces, and for salsa I just have to fill it twice, no biggie. I guess it depends on what you think you'll use it for. If I was depending on it for preparing large amounts of food, then no, the small ones would be a pain.

Great point. Mine died (in a move) so I need to get a new one, but I'm planning on keeping the bowl and blades.

Mine is - I think- a 7 cup and it's not big enough. Get the bigger one. :thumbsup

That said, I would love to have one of the mini sizes too.

I want the bigger one, but I also want a smaller one for meals. DH said he found a kitchen aid food processor with a 12 and 4 cup combo.

He told me how much it was, but I can't remember. It seems I passed out from the shock...
