Corn smut is edible, and considered a delicacy in the hispanic culture. Just thought you all might be able to salvage some. We have had a lot of corn smut here, the Mexicans call it huitlacoche (weet la KOH cheh) and fry it up like mushrooms :D I'm going to make an attempt to market it here locally.

The Amish farmer was calling it "corn cancer" He had never seen it, but the weather was right for it this year. He got a LOT of affected corn, both early and late.

Did you try to sell it? I hear it commands top dollar in the hispanic community. Was going to ask my mexican friend at church about it but he wasn't there last night :(

no such large community here close. If I had a Indian delicacy, I could cash in. Remember a long while back we were talking about okra? One the Indian members on my team has a ton of it. Need to find something to trade with her. :)
