Theres a story I never hear the end of. When I was about 2-3 I found a slew of baby skunks under out old house, and I thought they were kitties and wanted to play with them. My mom asked my brother, who was 5 at the time, when skunks started to spray. My brother was like baby-genius-know-it-all-about-nature&animals kid.
Unfortunatly we never got pictures. Too bad, I was a cute kid. Lmao. On BYC there was a funny animal photos thread, someone had a picture of her like 3 y/o daughter with like 10 baby skunks.
A few years ago, at a stable where I boarded my horse, there was a mule that my mare was in love with, so I would walk her by its pasture every day. This mule hated skunks and other critters in its pasture and was known to kill small animals.
One day, I saw the mule nudging a white kitten with its nose. When I got closer, I saw that it was a baby skunk, almost completely white, just the faintest bit of black. Tiny baby. The mule was mad, but not aggressive, just gently nudging the baby towards the fence and out of its pasture!
Here it is illegal to own a skunk anymore except for zoos. I know of someone who had killed a mother skunk and then found the babies. She called the vet office to see about getting them descented and they told her to stop. They didn't want to hear anymore and told her to release them before she got into trouble. I guess to many were making pets out of them or something.
