Congrats on your new pet!

Tell us how it was packaged and how long it took and how much leakage (if any) there was....

I packed it in a washed plastic, G2 bottle enclosed within two 1 gallon ziplock baggies. The outer baggie was taped shut with packing tape. I mailed it on Thursday morning.

Not sure yet if it leaked. Dace?

I haven't named it yet although floating in that tea it looks a bit alienish!

It arrived in great shape only a few little drops in the inner bag, so you did an awesome pack job BBH :) and your tea smelled really yummy...I was tempted to sip it but I was in a hurry to get it into the new brew and hastily poured it all in....tasting it was an after thought. :smack

I made my batch of tea on 10/31....so when should I start sampling it?

Sally, can you PM me your addy? I can't quite read the name of the street!

Depends on how warm the area is that you keep it in. Go for 80-ish if possible, then it is 7-10 days. Here it is closer to 3 weeks in the winter and a week in the summer. At 70-ish, probably 10 days or a bit longer. Smell it and taste it starting around a week, and you will eventually figure out how you like it and determine when it is done based on smell alone.

If it goes too long, it will be very vinegary. I've tossed a few batches. Knowing what I know now, though, I would add it to the animal's water like some do with ACV. I've heard that you can clean with a very sour batch, like you would use vinegar to clean with.
