Lovin' The Homestead
i just finished Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde, one of my favorite authors. it was stunningly good. i highly recommend it.
anyway, he always begins his chapters with a bit that seems completely unconnected to the story, but always ends up being important. when i came across this one, however, i knew he'd hit genius level. the book is set in a distant dystopian future and the chapter headings are all rules from the 700 volume rule book that governs every aspect of the society.
edited because it helps to include the title of the book...

i love it. long live Jasper Fforde.9.3.88.32.025: The cucumber and the tomato are both fruit; the avocado is a nut. To assist with the dietary requirements of vegetarians, on the first Tuesday of the month a chicken is officially a vegetable.
