I have fruit on my tomato plants and have had fruit on my tomato plants for a couple weeks. However they are all green and they haven't changed color.....even the original ones that I noticed that changed about about a month ago. Am I doing something wrong or are they supposed to take forever to change and ripen?

Sometimes they take forever. My SIL is having the same problem. I set mine out wayyyy earlier than most folks around here, so mine are getting ripe now, just over the last 2-3 weeks. You could always fry them :drool

Or make green tomato relish or pickles! :drool

Mom experimented with those recipes last year when she found out doc and I liked fried green 'maters and the relish ans pickles are delish! We're both growing extra tomatoes this year so we can make more of both.

Got a late start on our tomatoes and they just aren't liking this heat. We hit 101 degrees in the shade today...:hit

That reminded me...Chowchow is good too. It's a kind of relish made with green tomatoes as well, but chunky instead of finely chopped. DH loved it!

I don't like green tomato anything. To me, it just tastes sour. Last year was a bad tomato year around here, nothing ripened until the end of the season. So I picked the biggest green ones before they froze, put them in one layer and covered with newspaper. Every 2 or 3 days I picked out the ripe ones and used them. My friend puts them in cardboard flats and slides them under the bed. They seem to taste better if they ripen in the dark. Not as good as vine ripened, but better than store bought.

I now have just one tomato that's orange-ish. I still have high hopes for tomatoes even though it was 109 here yesterday. :barnie
