but the tile is sound

is there a way to really clean it up and have it look nice
I might need to regrout

can I just do that in spots

if I regrout will mold come in from the back wall if if if there is mold back there

and the caulk looks moldy deep down, is there a way to take out the caulk
and get the back or wall part really clean and recaulk with out mold coming through

or do

I really have to rip it all out and put up cement board and start over

dont really want to start over, but don't want to waste my time doin this wrong

thanks

I don't have any knowledgeable answers for you, sorry (but dumb looks are still free!). My gut says rip it out and do it right.

Grout comes in all those trendy, nice colors......except one. Personally, I think they could skip all the forest greens, sky blues, brick reds, bountiful browns.... and just offer ONE color. MOLD BLACK. That would solve all our problems.

Grout can be bleached, there are creams for this--check your home depot type store. And caulk is very easily replaced, just pry/peel it out and re-apply--there are tons of youtube videos on how to get a nice edge :)

lol, I know actually I plan to tile the floor in there with those small hexagon tiles in white and I am going to use a dark grout for the contrast but also because it matches filth,

I guess I will try the grout bleach, recaulk, and if it looks bad in a few months go for the big job, you know and do it right thanks!
