We've got some handmade buckskin we tanned up ourselves- picked up from what people don't like to keep after the hunt. Stretched and lightly smoked. They aren't perfect like commercially tanned hides, but they're unique and hand worked the whole way. It's about a two week process in total. I don't brain tan due to CWD risk, so they're alum tanned.
I've got 6 pieces right now I will sell at $75 each (includes shipping) for anyone interested. We've made stockings, bracelets, hair wraps, and such out of pieces on our own- it's great to craft with.
