Hi, I'm Plainswoman and happy to be joining this group. My husband and I are retired and living the good life on our farm. Our son is taking over the farming this spring so this year we're even retiring from farming.

We've been married 47 years and have 2 children. Both are married and our son and his wife have produced 2 of the cutest and smartest children in the universe. We are fortunate that they live right across the blacktop from us so get to see all of them often.

I enjoy gardening and canning/freezing the produce. I also can meats and love having it all on hand, especially when I'm in a hurry.

DH and I are old enough that we don't begin to live the "homesteading" and "self-sufficient" lifestyle we used to. As you all know it's a massive amount of work and more work than we're willing to do anymore. If things ever get bad, we have the knowledge and the kids have the brawn. It will work out!

So that's enough about me. I hope to get acquainted soon with others here and I hope to learn from others and help when I can.

Thanks!

Welcome! Maybe you can share with us your experience and knowledge. It is wonderful that your son is working the farm and you and your husband can retire, but not have to move! Glad you are here on SS!
