My Dad wanted a hand putting the new soft top on his Jeep today so off I go for a day of stretching vinyl. Then Mom brings up some nice dirty Mason jars for me to bring home... I swear she dug them out of the root cellar floor!! Ah well, a spin the the dish washer and they look like new!

Every little bit helps, Eh?

That is great. Dirty jars will come clean. I know. I cleaned out my moms shop about a year ago and found some canned stuff. No clue what most of it was it had been in there so long. Even opened you could not tell what it had been. Shoved in the back in the dark. Since she has not canned in years and then only jellys and jams I am assuming it was some kind of fruit. But the jars are still working for me. It was just a mess to dump all that stuff out.

That's a great deal! I have some jars that had stuff in them that was ancient but, all cleaned up and in use now. Great thing about glass, it doesn't retain smell or flavor of what was in it!

Oh yea.... I forgot about the ones with "food" in them!! I have to make the journey into the cellar and see what kind of jars those were!

My Mom has so really old stuff in jars. (I think it may of been Grannys, but I could be wrong) I convinced my kids that it was really Mom's brain collection once. Man, was Mom mad over that one! I think those might of been the glass top jars though. I don't know what it might of been, but they really do look like brains!

PS, I found out that the boxes that printer paper comes in make perfect storage boxes for quart jars. Plus, the boxes tend to have heavy duty lids and the boxes have grab holes. ;)
