Ok so here I am freemotion and ohio?(I forget the rest of your screenname). Hopefully you are right and everyone here is much nicer :) Thanks for inviting me. I must admit, I am slightly afraid to ask questions or tell anyone my troubles now because of all the mess on backyard herds forum.

:welcome Welcome! Please don't hesitate to jump in over here. We're a bit like family and have a bunch of different people and perspectives but none of us tolerate meanness. With OFG (ohiofarmgirl) and Freemotion at you're back, you won't have any trouble here. Especially with OFG's 2 1/2 dogs and her guns and her ax... (You'll have to head on over to her journal to see what that's all about!) Anyway, welcome again and we hope you have a good experience.

We keep the streets clean here! :welcome Don't be afraid to post anything, and if you are, you can always pm your question to the ones you want to hear from. FarmerChick gives great goat advice and doesn't always read the threads, so I tend to PM her a bit.

But we all have opinions! :D When a meanie shows up here, we don't tolerate it and report-report-report like mad and it gets cleared up rather quickly, so fear not!

Being interested in self sufficiency, we also tend to support doing treatments ourselves and naturally. I suspect you will fit in quite nicely. Do some reading and searching and see what we've already talked about concerning livestock and you will quickly get a feel for how our discussion on those topics go....and you will be pleased. We tend to put those discussions in our journals or in the "Everything Else" category.

Oh, and you are thinking of OFG, Ohiofarmgirl, who is a hoot and a half and we all love her! You simply must read her entire journal! It is truly an entertaining novel/autobiography and should be published!

:welcome

Usually things are pretty low-key here, altho every so often things get a little heated when threads stray into politics...but even then most people are polite about it. :D

:frow Welcome home. If those two sent you here- you will probably fit right in. We don't have a separate section for the herd stuff here, but lots of us are raising animals naturally and less expensively. Attempts to find better, easier, or cheaper ways to do it will probably get you a pat on the back here.
I don't have animals yet, but subscribe to some of the journals and threads to learn more so I wont mess up too bad when I can have them. Any questions you ask may end up teaching somebody like me- so ask away. Please tell what works for you, and doesn't work too. Might save some of us trouble later.
