I've been lurking for quite some time, just amazed at the weath of information and wisdom here. I'm afraid I don't have much to offer - I am new to this, and stuck where I am for now, but I do have big dreams. I was actually googling the Denver airport when I found this site, as someone had just told me about all the "strangeness" about it, and I've really liked flying through there, forgot all about that when I landed here.

I'm 50, I've been a widow for almost 8 years now, have one biological son (2 biological grandkids) who live in northern CA, and four stepdaughters (7 stepgrandkids) who live here. My dream is to move to CA near my son and his family - they have recently gotten 5 acres there.

I have 2 Shelties and 1 senior cat (14) and 2 kittens who are a year and a half but can't be convinced that they are "grown-up" now and should behave as such. I live in town, in a sub-division, but behind my house is woodland, at least for now. I feed the birds, squirrels, possums, raccoons and whoever else might drop by. My dream would be to work at a wildlife refuge, but I don't know if I can make that happen, so in my search for something for me, I have decided on beekeeping. I read everything I can get my hands on about bees and though I have no hands-on experience yet, I really want to learn. We'll see how that goes.

As for other interests, I love to read and have a house overflowing with books. In my downsizing, my books and pictures are exempt. I really enjoy photograph, particularly of nature and of course, the grandkids.

Thank you all for sharing - I have learned much by lurking, hope to learn more!

I'm sure my definition of strange is different from most people's, or so I'm told, but then I'm an old hippie for lack of a better word, stuck in a preppy college town. Anyhow, one of my friends saw something on TV about a huge conspiracy of some sort about the airport, and I was saying I personally liked that airport, that if I was gonna be stuck at one awhile I would choose it, since I can see the Rockies (my Mecca since I was a teen) and since it has so many interesting shops to browse (but not buy.) So I decided to google it and landed here fairly quickly, decided I'd just keep my opinion of the airport, and learn from yall!

Thanks for all the welcomes! Right now I don't have internet at home, it went the way of cable TV when I had to cut back. I only miss the TV when "Lost" comes on. But I work at an accounting firm, so this is our busy season, from now until April 15th, so I'll be here most everyday (maybe off on Sunday) so I'll for sure be checking in at lunch, and break, and you know, every now and then.....

I too look at it as fate, as destiny, big brown horse!!

I really like horses, and like riding, but only get to occasionally when I go to the Smokies. (Mountains.)
