Hi everyone and thanks for letting me join. I'm based in Northern Ireland , have a small farm with a seasonal campsite and I'm interested in producing my own meat, heating with firewood, running my vehicle on waste veg oil, possibly off grid water supply and wind/hydro/ solar power. In general, getting out of "the system " as much as i can.

Welcome from VA. You have a lot to set up there...well & solar/wind. You have trees available to cut? Raising meat requires pasture, hay, feed stuff, depending on animal. I have goats, so milk, cheeses to make, meat to harvest. Sheep are good. Poultry & rabbit are smaller to handle. Not mentioned bovine -- animal size to handle needs more consideration.

Can you butcher your own -- legally and actually? Some European countries do not allow home butchering.

The bio fuel is interesting but, requires some effort. 😐
Hope you're young & strong. 😁
