I am new to this forum, found it on BYC. Ever sense I got the planetgreen channel I have been very interested in living off the grid, theres only one problem I'm 15 and my mother limits my backwoods ideas.

Welcome hobo. So you are 15...and already learning ways to be "green" GREAT for you! So, you will have plenty time to get a "plan" together for when you are ready to be on your own, and start your own family. Keep learning all you can. We need MORE like minded kids like you in this old world. ;)

:welcome

There are lots of interesting things you can try and experiment with and learn even at your age. When your projects benefit the household, mom will start to take notice!

Thank you, I am glad that I found this site because it seems to have everything to do with what I'm interested in. And hopefully I can get my mother to support my off the grid living plan.

Welcome hobobrando :)

You will need to be patient and slowly prove out your ideas one at a time to her ....this from a mom of 3 teens!

I have one thing going for me, I can be very convincing. She said I could get 3 chickens last year, I now have 12 with plans for more.
Now I'm trying to sell her on the idea of either bees or goats. One day she made the mistake of mentioning pigs  and that to gave me ideas. I live on .17 acres but have access through neighbors to about 15.
