Hockey Sticks?

Has anyone here ever made a hockey stick?

I think that would be a very interesting project, especially a goalie stick.

The closest I've ever come to that was gluing the blade back onto my road hockey stick. It lasted indefinitely.

That's a great idea. I've seen a few websites that offer you the option of customizing your hockey stick but making a wooden one from scratch would be a very coo project.

I think it would be a cool project.

I also thought of making a baseball bat, but obviously you'd need a lathe for that.

I assume it would be easier to make a hockey stick?

Taggart, I had a pal who decided to whip up a baseball bat on his lathe and found that it required a special level of expertise that eluded him. He thought it would be an easy project but he became quite frustrated and never produced anything with the balance he desired.

I wonder if you'd need a mechanical guide to form the difference in thickness between the barrel and the handle?

I'm sure that balance is critical, and I bet that's part of the reason pro players are so picky about what they use.
