Good idea . . . I don't have any answers for ya though :/

How bout yellow flies - any body know how to get rid of them without using bug spray?

I don't suppose you have chickens, do you? I bet they'd make short work of the bugs! :)

guinnies would take care of the potato bugs for ya...otherwise not sure on that one.

on the rabbit, possibly an infection?

We are talking about guineas for the garden next. And we are gonna work and manure the ground this fall, then put plastic over it. Then Late February. Plant our potatoes, peas, cabbage, and brocolli for the year instead of getting put off until mid may.

For the potato bugs, the only way I've found to get rid of them is to squish them. Don't know about the bun, hon.

Perhaps a good layer of DE around the base of each plant would take care of the bugs?

A bird feeder nearby may also attract birds that will eat the bugs.

My parents use the pepper and soap spray for the garden with excellent success.
I will track down the recipe for you...

That is key. You need to plant those things very early, so they have a chance against the heat and bugs.
