Anyone ever do anything like this?

Most I did was a potatoe in a glass with toothpicks to hold it in the water and it sprouted roots!

Just wondering if anyone has worked with this before?

Dh experimented with it in high school.....in his experimental phase

We watched a show a few weeks ago about a guy who was growing food hydroponically and had even adapted it to the point that the roots of the plants were just hanging and rather than sitting in water they would get misted every so often. Search for the show Ecopolis and maybe they will have some info.

My husband and I stopped in a Hydroponic supply shop a couple years ago, mainly out of curiosity. The stuff was EXPENSIVE! As a hobby it would be way the heck out of my means. If you did it on a farm scale it would be quite the initial investment. I suppose there are a few crops that could support that kind of a set up....

I think whether or not this is feasible is going to depend on your location. I looked in to it too. Prices on lights have come down a lot in the last few years. It might be better (cheaper) for me to build a hoop house.

Well i do not say that i do it but i have a small Hydroponics garden at my home and i am taking care of it on regular basis. It is with led light installed in place of the solar light is it is indoor so required. It is giving me small results and i am thinking to develop it on a big scale too.

Yes, this is a right thing that you are talking about because hydroponic is the way which is provide the good growth to the plant. It is the way of provide the growth to the plant in the environment. You have to provide the better care about it for the good growth.
