Late For Supper
......to find some time to finish getting a couple of my rifles sighted in, and to "break the cherry" on my new pistole'.
Well by gosh I got'r done this evening!
It was a toss up as to whether I was gonna melt, or get carried off by the 'skeeters before I was finished!
Finished sighting in the R-15(.223) first, and am very happy with the results. It just needed a touch up, because I had only zero'd it in @ 50 yards last time out. It hits about a 1/2 inch high @ 100 yards, and I put 6 rounds in a hole the size of a dime, so I called it a day on that one.
The Stevens .17 caliber rifle wasn't even "on the paper" at 50 yards, so it took a little time to get it dialed in. I finally got 10 rounds in a hole the size of a quarter @ 100 yards and I was getting eaten alive by the skeeters!! Next up was the new Taurus Tracker .17 caliber pistol, I just ran about 25 rounds through it at 10 yards(open sights) just so I could hear it go bang and to make sure I could hit something with it if need be. That little pistol is a hoot to shoot! I am thinking with a scope and mount, it just might be decent little varmint pistol out to 100 yards or so.
All in all a pretty fun afternoon. It is now beer-thirty and time to clean the firearms before putting them back in the safe.
