What the heck
Everyday I let the 6, six week old chicks outside to play. They have a nice fenced off grassy area all to themselves. They still sleep inside in a box but every morning I hand carry each of the 6 out and chat to them, pet and love on them as I take them out to their play yard. Every evening as it gets dark we carry them all back in. For the last few days I have been opening the side of they play area fence so that they can free range ( kind of a funny term here in suburbia) and they really do not go anywhere...outside the pen, peck at the dirt, over into the duck pen etc. they do not travel more than 15 feet in any direction.
Last DH said "Hey those chickens are at the door!' Hmmm...I go and look and all 6 are squished together at my bedroom door, the one I take them in and out of everyday. I guess they are ready to come in I said
Now here it is 3:30 in the afternoon and I have a mess of chickens looking in my door window. The dog is not impressed.
