a deluxe Garret Gold Panning Kit for 2

yup. Barb said her FIL mentioned there was gold in their back creek in the cow pasture and I remember my FIL mentioning gold prospecting was done in our creek on our land. NC has gold.

So I went and bought 2 pans, classifier, and books/video came with it and I am going to try my streams.

WHY NOT right?

when we get our little swim hole project started at the same time while hubby is working I will do some panning. YOU NEVER KNOW :p

So, anyone try panning for gold ever? any advice or anything would be appreciated if you ever tried this! I know it is a total crapshoot but I love trying new things like this :) plus I will bring my detector to go around that weird stone bridge area. Old coins? who knows.

Your deed should state whether or not you own the mineral rights. I do not own mineral rights on my property, but there aren't any minerals of value here at all!

Only time I've ever pan for "gold" was at a tourist trap when the kids were little. But, I seemed to have a knack for it, and was able to fill my vial w/"gold" pretty quickly.

Good luck w/it. It's something I've always wanted to try.

Sweet! I have always wanted to do something like that. I like metal detecting too...especially here on this property. LOTS of stuff to find here since it is a very old homestead area :D DD found a mini ball from the civil war washed up under the clothesline one day several summers ago  Panning for gold...sounds like a blast! Have fun with it!!
