My HARD boiled eggs. I boiled them, put them in a pot of cold water, then forgot about them (we ended up leaving for 10 hours).

Are they garbage now??

I grew up where we left the Easter Eggs in the basket for a couple days.
Lucky to survive? Maybe. :p
I don't think 10 hours ruins them.

I'd eat them (ssuming you have not peeled or cracked them yet, the shell is still intact).

Though I'd eat them soon (and refrigerate til then) rather than keeping them for later. In general it is a bad idea to leave proteinaceous stuff out, but eggs are a little bit of a partial special case because the shell and membrane help reduce bacterial contamination. Not prevent, but reduce.

(Actually I loathe hardboiled eggs so I would not eat them at ALL, but of course that's not the point :p)

yeah--the shells and membranes were intact--they actually boiled without breaking a shell, which is impressive. i am not a big fan of plain hardboiled eggs, but do enjoy devilled eggs, and egg salad.
