I am getting fired up on my totally solar greenhouse project again, since the weather is finally cooperating. I am using 5 gallon stack-able water jugs for my solar mass, and I want to use salt water as a kind of protection from freezing (just in case). I can find all kinds of info on how cold the temp can get, without the saltwater freezing, but I can not find any info on how much salt to add, to say a gallon of water, to get the protection as low as possible.
Can you folks possibly help me out with the info, or a site I can go to? I must not be using the right search engine words. :he
TIA

Why don't you do an experiment? Take some smaller containers and put different quantities of salt in each ( in increments you can later convert to 5 gallons) and see which ones don't freeze. Then you should know.

Or you could just wait until some smarter then me tells you (heck Hardly's smarter than me!)
