Okay, we went to pick peas today, and I think we paid too much. so, help me figure this out. If you picked one bushel of peas, (obviously in the pod) how many pint jars would you get from that. That will help me figure out whether we overpaid.

I have no clue how to even figure that. I'd GUESS about 20 pints

I bought a basket of peas at the farmer's market and I was amazed at how few finished peas I got out of it. The only redeeming factor was that if I chopped up the pods the ducks would eat it

That is why I'll only plant or buy fresh peas that are edible podded....sugar snaps or snow peas.

Well I think that a bushel produces around 19 pints finished. I just looked it up since I am going to the farmers market in the morning and needed to know how much to get of them, tomatoes, and greenbeans! Weird coincidence!

That is what I thought. So I did get charged for two bushels. gotta go talk to them tomorrow. We picked, hubby paid,so i didn't think about it until I canned and that is why I questioned it. I got 20 pints. That should have been one bushel.

Well, the peas in my garden didn't fair well, and I needed to put some up. Accidents happen. I'll be upset if they don't reimburse me tomorrow though.
