Yes, it's 18 degrees out, but I just made my first batch of homemade ice cream. :lol: My husband and kids eat it every night, and I do not like the nasty ingredient list on the stuff he buys, so this is our compromise. I got a Cuisinart machine and it turned out a wonderful batch in about 20 minutes. I'm not an ice cream fan, but this was yummy. So much better than anything from the store, and the price was about even. I even used raw eggs (shhh, don't tell anyone) and homemade vanilla extract.
So - do any of you make ice cream and not cook the mix when it contains eggs? I figure since I eat mayo made with eggs, why bother cooking the ice cream.
Can't wait till I can get raw milk to use.
