Last week I had two very special visitors! My friend Robin's (from previous post) daughter Jennifer and her niece Elizabeth, age 2. Jennifer had just been milking the goats, and Elizabeth was helping her.

Don't they look to be just the best milkmaids!! I love their aprons. And Elizabeth's special boots!

We traded some goat milk for eggs.
Here is Elizabeth petting our dog, Spartacus.

Spartacus loves little kids, though at times they find his size to be a bit intimidating. Elizabeth wasn't afraid of him at all. She is such a cutie! And talks so well!

Here is a better photo of them.

Pardon the mess in the background. I am working on a new cross stitch for a couple that are expecting their first baby in a few months.

Great pics. But I thought you were going to tell me where I could get those boots. :p

Since your post and pics and our fashion discussion I have been re thinking my wardrobe. I am going to make some long skirts for spring and summer. I found looking through the "pioneer " patters in the costume section was interesting.

Not sure what I am doing yet. But if you can find out where she got those boots that would be great.

I'll ask her and get back to you. It might take a while, she has jury duty on a big case here, that they said would take about two months of jury duty!

Beautiful people. And I like your pic in the background, the priest with the rams horn. Reminds me of Joshua and the walls of Jericho. :)

I like Robin's apron. Do you have a link to the pattern for that?
I had a 40's or 50's style bib apron that I used as a pattern to make many aprons years ago. Nothing I have seen since is as close as Robin's.

Robin's and Jennifer's aprons look to me to come from the same type of pattern. It doesn't have a bib, it is a simple one piece body with two pockets, the ties are sewn on as the edging of the body of the apron. There is some added crochet lace to the top of the "bib" portion, and to the top of the pockets. It is made much longer than most apron patterns, but that is a very easy change to make.

I looked through my apron patterns and found three that have a similar look.

I didn't find the other two on the McCalls website,

This is a neat website with the top aprons being VERY cute and much like the ones of Robin and Jennifer.

I wouldn't do well with the summers either. But I have finally hit that point in the winter when I'm ready for it to be over....

Dear Heidi,

The boots were purchased approx. three years ago at Western Warehouse. They are called Double-H Boots and are so comfortable...just make sure you have time to lace them up....it's not that bad.....I just usually have my hands full with milking gear!
Love ya,

Robin

Maybe you can find them on line, I will google it... Yep!
