I haven't bought storebought salad dressing in ages, and basically my kids are rebelling by not wanting salad or veggies and dip anymore, because I won't buy ranch dressing.

I have made some before with my homemade ranch seasonings, but that just won't do.... it's just not good enough for their refined taste buds :/

I have tried to explain that there was no such thing as ranch dressing when I was a kid, told them to live a little and try other dressings, all to no avail. so here I am, asking for the very best ranch dressing recipe.

Is anyone up to the challenge?

We have been making homemade ranch dressing for years. It is very easy to customize for individual tastes.

Easy Ranch

1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayo
seasonings:
Italian seasoning or
Basil, oregano, marjoram,thyme,rosemary
Garlic powder or
Hydrated diced onion
Optional:
Ground Cayenne Pepper

Mix well and add milk to get right consistency.

You can sub plain yogurt for sour cream
For dairy free sub with coconut yogurt
or just use all mayo

I found Hidden Valley Ranch mix in a CANISTER at Wally World :D

It's hardly real homemade, but I mix it with sour cream, mayo, and buttermilk, and it is good!
Also, the giant canister was $6, a lot better than $1.50 per packet.
