Sept 22 was Autumn.

Our NC summer was ick. Our fall is right here now. Cool, breezy, (but finally sunny after 6 days of clouds and rain)

So are you cooler now. Possible frost happening anywhere?

Our fall I believe is going to turn cold fast.

Weather sure is changing. I remember 90 deg. days in Sept. We don't have those anymore. Hmm....wonder if winter will be bad?

Pumpkins are out all over the place here..LOL...little early for Halloween plus the Christmas stuff is in stores now. UGH

How is your fall shaping up so far?

Last week, 40's and 50's. This weekend - 80's. Today? 60's. By Wednesday 80's again. Colorado weather is always weird, but this year it was weirder than usual. We barely got a Summer it was so wet and cool.

Fall arrived exactly today in Clarksville, TN! We dropped from 80+ to a lovely 68 with breeze to boot. I found so much joy in wearing a sweatshirt while drinking my coffee outside while chicken watching this morning! :love

yeah we get some crazy winters - but we are south/east of columbus so we dont get the wild 'lake effect snow' that they get up north

however

last winter we had a -30* nite!!! for us that was big news. my man and i were watching the morning weather guy and when they announced that we both bolted for the door, drove the big truck down, and loaded up with straw and piled the bales high around the poultry. whew! we didnt have any losses but there is a certain 'cold' level when it doesnt matter what the temp is... alls you do is stomp in the house swearin' a blue streak after only a few mins outside. yikes!

and yep we'll blow some cool down to you FarmerChick! but be careful what you wish for! all our pine needles just blew down and the pinecones are raining from the sky! i keep waiting for some of the younger hens to launch into the wind and fly fly fly!

:)

I hear ya about the wind. One of my chicken tractors blew right over! Luckily the ducks I had in were moved a couple days before. And half of our best apricot tree fell over! :hit

We had about a week of -50 here last winter. I'm dreading the snow!
