Y'all get snow after a hurricane??? In Houston we just got 115 degree heat indexes and no power for 2 weeks.

Stay safe!!

(It is snowing in Dallas today too, but it isn't that uncommon.)

Hurricane Hugo crossed into South Carolina coast near the Isle of Palms on September 22, 1989. Surface winds were recorded at 138 miles per hour, with gusts of 160+ miles per hour. The National Weather Service at Charleston recorded a minimum barometric pressure of 27.85 inches. Damage to coastal and inland properties, utilities, agriculture, timber and commerce exceed $6 billion. 50-70,000 people were left homeless and 26 people were killed.

and then

December 1989: Charleston experienced its first white Christmas on record. Other coastal locations had more than six inches of snow on the ground for several days.

might be wimps but you cant say we didnt have it

when i went to College of Charleston we had a few days of snow- very light flurries that lasted less than an hour. school was closed for 3 days because the bridges onto the peninsula were closed due to freezing. it was wonderful!

and thats why i say these 3-4 inches we are suppose to get will close schools till the day before school ends in June

even a 1 flurry will shut everything down here

yeah, Charleston weather is crazy.

during one of those "spring showers" that basically floods all of downtown, i looked out the window to see a man kayaking down Cumming Street... i thought i was loosing it, but he was out there paddling up and down the street.

can't imagine what 4 inches of snow would be like there. almost makes me want to hop in the car and head over!

i know what yoy mean about the floods i managed to get stuck in one when i was about 10 and it was waist high and there were those big ol city rats doing the backstroke next to me

but as fast as the entire city floods the floods leave just as fast
